The author takes you on a deep dive into his experiences of being a victim of racism and systemic racism while giving you a lifejacket. He looks at it with optimism even though he encountered some pain associated with racism by being black by default. This book is a triumphant story, reflections, and solutions on how to overcome a real issue that we have in America. This book was a good read!

“Chased” by Carl Malone is an excellent read. The book is a mix of personal experiences, cold hard facts and statistics designed to educate on issues of systemic racism from the past and today.
The book has a very interesting chapter that asks the reader to “grade” how we are doing as a nation in regards to race relations and fairness. I found myself changing the grade after reading the book and becoming even more aware of the existing systemic racism in our country.
